3X Grammy® Award Winner, 4-time Grammy® nominee, Padma Shri Awardee, US Billboard #1 artist, United Nations "Goodwill Ambassador", “GQ Man Of The Year”, Ricky Kej is an internationally renowned Indian Music Composer and Environmentalist. Ricky has performed at prestigious venues in over 35 countries, including at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and Geneva.
His past repertoire of work includes 26 studio albums released internationally, over 3500 TV and radio commercials and 8 feature films, including the natural history documentary 'Wild Karnataka' narrated by Sir David Attenborough. Ricky also scored music for the opening ceremony of the Cricket World Cup 2011, held in Dhaka-Bangladesh.
Ricky’s awards include the United Nations “Global Humanitarian Artist” award and is conferred with the title “Youth Icon of India”. ‘Real Leaders’, a Signatory to the United Nations named Ricky Kej as one of the 100 Real Leaders who ‘Inspire the Future’. The House of Commons, Parliament of Canada awarded Ricky for his “Outstanding Musical and Humanitarian Achievement”.A chapter on Ricky’s life and musical journey is taught in the 7th grade English textbooks in India. Ricky Kej is also a professor at the prestigious National Institute of Advanced Studies.

original score for India's first blue-chip natural history film "Wild Karnataka" which was narrated by SIR DAVID ATTENBOROUGH.
The film saw theatrical release in India in January 2020 which was a first for a wildlife documentary and ran to packed houses for over 2 months. The film also won 2 National Awards in India.

‘Adrishya Jalakangal’ starring Tovino Thomas.
“ ‘Adrishya Jalakangal’ is an anti-war film with a layered structure and surrealistic treatment and is set in an imaginary space. The script is strongly socially driven and touches on many different aspects and elements of society related to the notion of war.”

THE SOUND OF NATURE
In 2020, the world celebrates the 250th birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven. With his 6th Symphony, the “Pastoral,” Beethoven expressed his romantic appreciation of nature.
Now this work is the basis of the “Beethoven Pastoral Project," captured by Deutsche Welle in the documentary film “The Sound of Nature.” It presents five musicians and ensembles on five continents who are currently exploring the themes of nature and the environment.
Ricky Kej is the featured musician.

The Official Land Anthem of the UNCCD, “Born From The Land” was released on World Soil Day as a reminder that soil is a vital part of the land that is the basis for human health and livelihoods, and our economic, cultural and spiritual well-being.
Grammy® award winning Musicians Ricky Kej and Baaba Maal, another UNCCD Land Ambassador, perform the song, which also features Lonnie Park and IP Singh.

Ricky Kej was named the "UN Refugees - Goodwill Ambassador" in India by the
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in 2022.
RICKY has been supporting UNHCR by mentoring and providing opportunities for refugees who are musicians, since 2019. As a global artist and musician, Ricky uses his music to spread the message of kindness and tolerance.
